Miss treble's Goodbye

It has come to my attention that this is my last post, because my group is doing the podcast next week. So, I’m including a photo essay of my lovely group members :)

This is the awesome Everlast, who loves Panic! At the Disco just like me. She is insane (in a good way)

This is Dum Dee Dum, originally Master Radif (she had an identity crisis). She has an incredible love of bunnies, and is really good at recoloring images in Photoshop. <3

This is KeiLove, our Japanese music enthusiast. She is living proof that music is music, no matter what language it's in. Also, she's my Desi buddy.

This is our gorgeous group. Bye yall! I'll see you one last time for the podcast.

LAST RELEASE OF THE YEAR?! \ (OAO) /

Alright, time for some more of my Asian music fandomness....

This time I'm going back to Alice Nine and giving you all info on their last release of 2011.

It's hard to believe that 2011 is almost at its end, but it's true. So is Alice Nine's scheduled releases for the year.

Their final release of the year is titled Niji no Yuki (Rainbow Snow), which is completely fitting because winter is coming up and this single is releasing just before Christmas. The lyrics and PV are already out, and both are really intense.

This is one of the PV scenes with Shou (the singer) being magical. GIF found here.

The PV is everywhere, but here's one the places you can watch it.

This single has three editions: Regular, Limited A, and Limited B.

2. Fuurin (Live at 7th THEATER 2011.9.9)
3. GEMINI (Live at 7th THEATER 2011.9.9)

This is probably the last blog post that I'll publish, so this is a little Christmas gift for anyone who's interested in listen to A9. As a fan myself, I'm looking forward to this release and future releases from them.

I guess now that this year is coming to an end, I'm starting to get inspired from all the songs I've been listening to. I've been into songwriting for a good while now, but I think that my current songs are better than the ones I wrote years ago (no, I am NOT going to show you or anyone else my songs. They're too personal and no one will understand what they're about). I'm considering becoming a singer/songwriter, but I'm not sure.

Anyways, Merry (early) Christmas!

SPECIAL THANKS:
- Mrs. Young, the greatest E-Mag teacher EVER
- My fellow MusiCulture buddies, whom I would be failing this class without

OMFG! My LAST BLOG!?!?!?! ALREADY?!?!?

yes, sadly LASA only lets us be in Ezine for 1 semester.. and since Christmas break is almost here.. this is the last blog from Everlast :'( i know you guys are gonna miss the funny/awkwardness that is Everlast and the rest of the MusiCulture staff but dont worry! I may get my own blog just for the heck of it... well i already did... so come see it! (No promises it will be a good as this one though) Everlastscorner.blogspot.com hopefully, it will feature stuff such as the things seen on this blog + more.

so anyway, what i planned on writing was a rant on some new rap songs that killed my brain cells. Its called Dance by Big Sean and I absolutly (<- you see that... the result of listening to it 10 mins ago.) hate this song... i mean its just as stupid and meaningless as N****s in Paris by Jay-z and Kanye West, i mean, at least they put in that obnoxiously stupid line from blades of glory where it makes sense that the song is meaning less....

well if you want to hear the songs, here they are, Viewer Discretion is Advised.
Dance (A$$) by Big Sean ft Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj doesn't usually dance but its obvious she has been watching Twerk videos... but i guess its pretty mild compared to what it could've been, Nicki said she didn't want it to be too 'raunchy'.

Oh, and yes it does say A$$ in different lanuages...

And here is and Unofficial lyric video for N****s in Paris by Jay-z ft Kanye West (Explicit version because I couldn't find a clean version)

Jay-Z & Kanye West-Niggas In Paris (Unofficial Music Video) from Joseph Maruca on Vimeo.

Sorry if some of your brain cells died..

well thats it...
good bye

signing off, forever (maybe),

KAT-TUN's "ReBIRTH" -Part II-

Hello, all you music fanatics....

Yes, I'm back again for another week of ranting about Asian music.

Over the past week, I was contemplating what to blog about, and I was thinking of celebrating KAT-TUN's release of BIRTH (which is also my brother's birthday) but then I realized I already posted about that. So now I think I'll post lyrics.

This is the translation for BIRTH but KAT-TUN.
_______________________________________________________
Light and shadow, the rain from when I set off on my journey
I won't come back here anymore
I'll walk only looking forward
In this never-ending world, I'm searching for you

I don't know what's in store for me from this point
Where tomorrow might take me
At this point there's no turning back
I want to know the reason for my birth

Even the difficulty of believing
At last I finally understand it
Although I still have my doubts, I want to meet you

You can't have a dawn without night
Something is waiting reach out your hands
It won't end if you don't give up

Light and shadow, it's fate
I was born, a birth of sorrow
Even if I fall, I'll get back up
In this never-ending world

I remember, I remember
I was born to meet you
I haven't yet seen a morning accompanied by your voice
I keep only that in my heart

Weighed down by a wound that doesn't heal
In a corner of this large town
Before I could realize it, we had passed eachother by
somewhere...

There are tears that won't die away
But I'll meet you in the next town
Dreams you don't believe in can't come true

There's light at the bottom of the darkness
But my heart just keeps questioning
Who I am and testing my memories

I can hear it, I can hear it
It's the same sky you look up at
I keep living while believing that
I'll be guided by a miracle and meet you

The world keeps turning around without even my existence being noted
But right now I want to believe in meetings

Light and shadow, it's fate
I was born, a birth of sorrow
Even if you fall, get back up
In this never-ending world

I remember, I remember
I was born to meet you
I haven't seen a morning with your voice, yet
I keep only that in my heart
and I walk on

Gleeinvention

Over the weekend, I rediscovered my Glee fever. I had looked it up, just out of interest, because I hadn’t looked at it in a while. I was really surprised when I saw that Damian McGinty was on the show. I have listened to him in the group he sang in before he was on Glee, Celtic Thunder. When I did some research, I found out that he left the group L so that he could do a show called The Glee Project. According to the Internet, he won that show, and got onto Glee. This sparked my interest in the show again, and I checked Netflix to see if there were any new episodes. I was happy to discover that both season one and season two are available on Netflix.
So far, so good.
As I started to watch season 2, I was annoyed. All the characters that seemed so great in the first season had become repetitive and ridiculous. And now that I’ve started watching season 3, I’ve realized that they have to add a truckload of new characters to keep it going in future seasons, now that almost all of the characters are set to graduate. That won’t end well!
There is one good thing about all these new characters: They come with new voices.
image found here
Lately, Glee’s musical arrangement has become really cliché. It always seems to involve one person belting out the latest chart-topper, with other characters swaying and singing nonsensically in the background. There also seems to be a trend in the characters who get solos, but at least that is addressed in the show. Hopefully, Glee will get its act together in coming seasons.
Sorry it’s been so long,
Miss Treble

KeiLove's Feature Lead

Usually when people think of music, they think of the internationally or nationally known artists, like Lady Gaga, Lil' Wayne, Taylor Swift, and Rihanna just to name a few. However, there are also a wide variety of local artists, especially in Austin. One well-known band is Austin's very own Schmillion, a batch of students who attend LBJ/LASA High School. No one would have thought that a group of high school students would become so well known in a matter of two years, and it's time someone found the inside secrets to their fame.
<The message "Nut Graph" is unavailable at this time. Please try again later.>

Miss Treble's Lead/Nut Graph

The curtain closes one final time, hiding a stellar cast of students from view. The audience sits quiet for a moment, absorbing what they just witnessed. When the curtain swings open again for final bows, the room bursts with sound: Clapping, cheering, and the murmur of many conversations. As the auditorium slowly empties, the actors and actresses mill around backstage, congratulating each other on a story well played.
“The feeling of hearing applause… It’s just like nothing else, it’s like nothing in the world,” says Alina Vega, a junior at LASA high school. She performs with The Alley Cat Players, LASAs acting group. “The passion of being on stage is something I love,” she adds.
Theater can best be described as a creative outlet for those in need of a place to express themselves. Many students looking for a place to call home find themselves enveloped into this community-central program. Theater is an integral part of LASA, and for a good reason, too. “[Acting has] given me a way to feel more confident about myself,” says Vega, “knowing that I can create something beautiful, and something that other people will enjoy, even if they’re having the worst day ever.”

Dum Dee Dum Feature Lead

Austin is a city full of musicians, each with their own original vibe, but none like guitarist Tom Johnson. Unlike other musicians he doesn’t just sing the songs as they are, he translates English songs to Spanish, and Spanish songs to English. Nonetheless, like many things in life, there’s the right and wrong way to do things, as well as a great many factors, which ultimately lead to either fame or failure.

KAT-TUN's "ReBIRTH"

Wow, a week flies by when you're having fun.

Just so you know, my blog topic changes depending on my mood, and I'm in a KAT-TUN mood, so I'll talk about KAT-TUN.

KAT-TUN is another popular boy band from Johnny and Associates (the talent agency) which consists of Kazuya Kamenashi, Junnosuke Taguchi, Koki Tanaka, Tatsuya Ueda, and Yuichi Nakamaru. They had a previous member, Jin Akanishi, who served for the A initial until he left in 2010 (see my blog post about Akanishi here) to pursue his solo career in the US, but now Kamenashi serves for both the K and the A (it's convenient, considering his first and last name start with "KA").

Since their recent release "RUN FOR YOU," KAT-TUN's Kamenashi is starring in an ongoing drama called Yokai Ningen Bem (Monster Humanoid Bem), which started airing October 11 this year. I've been updated pretty well, and have watched all the episodes up to date (which is about 4 right now) and the main song in their upcoming release, "BIRTH," is the ending theme. Just by the TV size version (about a minute and a half) I'm really looking forward to getting the single when it releases.

"BIRTH," like many foreign releases, has three editions: Limited Edition 1, Limited Edition 2, and the Regular Edition. The single is planned to release November 30th (NOT SO FAR AWAY!) and the cover artwork hasn't been disclosed yet (it's a big surprise, I know it) but there's a sneek peek of the tracklist:

Limited Edition 1 (CD/DVD)

CD
1. BIRTH

DVD
1. BIRTH (music video + making of music video)

Limited Edition 2 (CD/DVD)

CD
1. BIRTH
2. Untitled Song A

DVD
1. Untitled Song A (music video + making of music video)

Regular Edition (CD only)
1. BIRTH
2. Untitled Song A
3. Untitled Song B
4. Untitled Song C
5. BIRTH (Original Karaoke)
6. Untitled Song A (Original Karaoke)
7. Untitled Song B (Original Karaoke)
8. Untitled Song C (Original Karaoke)

For those of you who know me (I mean REALLY know me) then you can see how excited I am about KAT-TUN or anything related to them (well, that's how it is for a lot of artists I listen to), so mention KAT-TUN and I'll just act like *identity censored*.

Since "BIRTH" isn't released yet, I'll use "RUN FOR YOU" as the image part.

From left to right: Taguchi, Tanaka, Kamenashi, Nakamaru, Ueda
Image found here

Tracklist:
1. RUN FOR YOU
2. DIAMOND
3. SWEET CHAIN
4. COSMIC CHILD
5. NOW & FOREVER
Plus Original Karaoke tracks for each song.

Note: "RUN FOR YOU" also has Limited and Regular Editions, but I only put the Regular Edition here because it's to much to have in one blog post.

Side comments about the "RUN FOR YOU" cover artwork:
- I'm in a state of surprise because Taguchi cut his hair (it was better when it was longer). He looks too visual kei now, which is sort of... odd? ._."
- Tanaka's a BLONDE! What is this?! (Well, it beats his previous style, and he looks really hot as a blonde in this hairstyle. But he still creeps me out though... -.-")

Ya-Ya-Yamapi!

Hello, all! Did you miss me? No? TOO BAD. I'm back anyways.

For this blog post I decided to talk about Yamapi, one of my favorite artists, because he's just that cool.

But first a little background.

First of all, his real name isn't Yamapi, but Yamashita Tomohisa. He's a singer and actor, and is an ex-member of NEWS, one of Johnny and Associates' more popular boy bands. He was part of NEWS until last month (October), when he withdrew from the group to continue his solo career. Recently he hasn't been releasing any albums, but instead is focusing on his new drama, "Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata~Ending Planner~" (It's the End of a Great Life ~Ending Planner~) which starts airing in January 2012.

In a past concert on the popular Japanese variety TV show "Shounen Club,"(when he was still part of NEWS) he told the story of how he got his nickname "Yamapi":

*Shounen Club: May 18, 2003*

Yamashita: Okay! Um... this is a bit sudden, but... "Pi-chan's Monologue"!

*crowd cheers in excitement*

Yamashita: Okay, today I'll talk about something that I expect you to find odd about me.
Um, my nickname is Yamapi. Yamapi, right? Where does the "Pi" in "Yamapi" come from? I expect there are a lot of people who wonder what "Pi" is. So today I'll talk about the origin. There were blue, green, and pink costumes. So I put on the blue... "Oh, hi, thanks..." I put on the blue costume. We have a teacher, a dance teacher, right? The dance teacher said, "Hey, Yamashita, pink! You've got the wrong costume! Not blue, pink! Pink!" He said, "Yamashita, pink!" "Ah, I'm sorry. I get it." So I changed into the pink clothes. But he'd shouted the "Yamashita, pink!" bit so many million, billion, trillion times! So then Takizawa-kun and the others were like, "Yamashita, pink. Yamashita, pink. Yamapi. Yamapi!"

-And that's the story of his nickname. (The actual video segment of the story is on Youtube. NOTE: I wasn't the one who translated the segment. All credit goes to NEWShFAN at his/her LiveJournal*.) Now, back to his new drama.

In "Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata~Ending Planner~" (It's the End of a Great Life ~Ending Planner~), Yamapi will play an owner of a funeral parlor who succeeds his late father's business unwillingly. As he recieves bodies from the police, it's through these bodies that he's able to understand the fabric of human relationships.

Just by hearing about this drama, I really want to see it, even though it's still months away from broadcasting.
I don't understand why, but since his break up from NEWS he hasn't been coming out with any new music as part of his solo career. Oh well, maybe he sees acting as more of a priority, and he'll get some inspiration from his roles or something. Regardless, I'll look forward to listening to any new releases/dramas he comes out with! o(^w^)o

To keep the music aspect, here's a past single he did with KAT-TUN's Kamenashi Kazuya for their drama "Nobuta wo Produce" (Producing Nobuta) called "Seishun Amigo" under their character names, Shuji and Akira:

Yamapi's on the left, Kamenashi's on the right. Image found here.

2. Colorful (Yamapi)
3. Kizuna (Kamenashi)
4. Seishun Amigo (Original Karaoke)

We Lost Another One...

I'm sure many of you have noticed that a lot of the new black eyed peas songs are just remixes to classic hip hop from back in the day. It's sickening (here we go!). A lot of my favorite songs are by the black eyed peas but none of them are from this decade. Those songs were actually written by them! These new lyrics to their newer songs sound like they're paraphrasing their older one, and now all of them are starting to sound more an more similar....which is so boring! The rest is filled in with a variety of techno sounds. Techno sounds are cool and all, but you can only use them so much in one song.
                                        Source

Lyrics aside, I love to dance, and I also loved (key word lovED) the choreography in the BEP's older music videos. The costumes and  dancing were so creative and professional crafted! But now it saddens me to see that I can't find that originality in them any more. They basically jump around and walk slowly as they stare intensely in to the camera through their shades, occasionally pixelating themselves from time to time. And the costumes are looking  less and less related to the music video.
                                                  Source
no! i stand coRrected! all thEy sing about now is partying I guess and its really really old. so how do they dance? juMpIng up aNd down, fist pumps, stuff likE that. ugh, how mainStream Can thEy get?

Panic! at the Disco Fangirl Vent/Rant

Okay, I know I talk about Panic! at the Disco in a "godly" way (Because they are gods) but I think that they are one of the best bands out there with the least amount of fans...

<- I mean who doesn't think this face is adorable?

and the fact that he can sing like this!?!

and OMFG HIS STYLE!!
HIS STYLE IS LIKE HJFSLYUDGAFULDSHJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(P.S. Please Comment if you would like to see me walking through school like them^ [in a suit and sunglasses, possibly singing])

Then the way he makes people feel awkward is soo funny!

How is it, that a stunning lead singer like Brendon Urie, Can't make a band like Panic! at the Disco as famous as LMFAO or Linkin Park or somebody like that?!? I'm sure he can get an acting career since he played a pretty freaking awesome vampire in, fellow labelmate, Fall out boy's "A little less sixteen candles, A little more Touch Me"

Please Click on the picture to see the GIF move...

See! I think he makes a better vampire then Robert Pattinson (don't tell anyone I said that!)
I mean really, Brendon Urie looks awesome in just about anything, and I mean ANYTHING!
Whether its a mustache and a top hat, or a sparkly pink tiara or even..
Yeah, even if its a mankini.... well actually.. This picture was a little awkward to put on here...
(Sorry all u guys who wanted to see Brendon without the censor block)

Seriously though, I would like to know if you think I should come to school in a random suit and sunglasses just for fun.
and If you have any other ideas of what kinds of stupid stuff I should do in school, please, just tell me what it is and there is an 80% chance that I will do it.

Arashi Is Back!

Today is a day... of excitement!

So I'm checking out music updates on my iPad (with my handy dandy Johnny's web App, and the first thing I see os an update on Arashi (Annie-senpai, this is for you).

WARNING: The following update is roughly translated from Japanese, so I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense. I'm trying the best I can with what little Japanese I know.

- Arashi is releasing a new single called "Meikyu Love Song" on November 2nd (today). This is their 36th single release. On its opening day, it has already sold more than 240,000 copies, topping the Oricon Daily Single Ranking*. This single is available in both limited and regular editions, with different coupling tracks for each edition. Please show your support and buy "Meikyu Love Song" wherever available. -

It's short and sweet, but it's enough to interest old and new Arashi fans around the world. The main song, "Meikyu Love Song," is the theme song for member Sakurai Sho's drama, "Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de" (which I'm really looking forward to seeing, because I'm an Arashi fan as well). So far, they've been at the top ranks of the Oricon Charts* for 24 consecutive times since one of their releases in February 2004, with a total of 31 times at the top of the charts. Based on that I'd say that they're a REALLY amazing boy band).

This is what the cover looks like:

Limited Edition [CD+DVD]:

[CD]:
1. Meikyu Love Song
2. Kienu Omoi

[DVD]:
"Meikyu Love Song Music Video

Regular Edition [CD only]:
 Both album covers founds here.
[CD]:
1. Meikyu Love Song
2. together, forever
3. Utakata
4. wanna be…
5. Meikyu Love Song (Original Karaoke)
6. together, forever (Original Karaoke)
7. Utakata (Original Karaoke)
8. wanna be… (Original Karaoke)

You can listen to them if you want to, but if you don't then that's okay.

See you next week!

‘Jai Ho’ says… The Pussycat Dolls?

At lunch a couple weeks ago, some friends and I were listening to music. When I heard the familiar lines ‘Jai ho,” I was pleasantly surprised. My non-Indian friend had Indian music on iTunes? That happiness lasted only until I realized that I was listening to the poisonous influence known as “The Pussycat Dolls”, not the Indian pop song that I like.
What on earth?!?!
Why would anyone want to destroy a cool song? It won an Academy for Best Original Score. The Pussycat Dolls shouldn’t be allowed to mess with a song like that. “Jai Ho” means ‘may there be victory’. The Pussycat Dolls added the subhead “You Are My Destiny”. It seems like they didn’t even know what ‘Jai ho’ means. So lame! They warped the beats, and changed the words.
The original is way better. There was no reason to remake it, whether in English or in Hindi.

Why should anyone change such a sweet song?

Brett Randell and the Magical Box...

My daddy makes friends with a lot of people anywhere he goes (he loves to talk) and one day he got invited to go to a friends house to hear a bunch of musicians play. Naturally, i went as well as, I am used to going to the homes of complete strangers every time my dad meets someone new. All was well until a man by the name of Brett Randell took his place on stage and with him, a wooden box, about the size of one of those safes that Warner Bros. characters like to drop on each other. This box had one hole cut into the side of it and there were like, I guess wires inside (please not this was in no way powered by electricity).
He began playing and he was A M A Z I N G! But the box made all these cool sound, it's really hard to explain I wish I'd taken a video! That night he had just gotten back from a tour all over Europe.

THE CAJON

THE SORRIEST EXCUSE!

At first i was not a huge fan of that new "Dancing in the Dark" song, but I figured that since the song is about dancing and the beat/rhythm was all that bad, that there might be some good choreography in the music video. But now I absolutely love it! The music video was oh so beautifully crafted.

UH, YEAH RIGHT.                                                         Source
After witnessing the train wreck i wanted to repent and punish myself for ever thinking that (the choreography theory). What was she doing?! The use of the hand patterns was a fairly good idea, but they did more movement than she did. The entire video with the random frame and hands encircling her could have been used just for the intro, but to drag on the entire video was torture! Seriously, was there one moment in the video where she took even one step? All she did was move her hands or roll around in painted hands, she touched her hair and hips, poked out her finger to "push to start" and stuff like that. Can you get any blander? That's something anyone can do, where is the art? Her outfits weren't even that interesting ether. It was all very generic, the club scenes were even more redundant (LABYRINTH!). Ugh, and the glasses were not in any way creative, no special effects or use of color. ThI certainly hope she wasn't proud of her work and that is why this is the sorriest excuse for a music video I've witnessed in a while.

The Panic! Experience

Okay so if you didn't know, Panic! at the Disco came to Austin last week to promote their new album, Vices and Virtues (you should totally buy this album).

And I was lucky enough to go to the concert! and OMG it was awesome! The singer (Brendon Urie) was so funny! for someone who usually sings to alternative rock music, he sure can rap.
This Is the Adorable and incredibly Talented Brendon Urie

But you might remember him from the I Write Sins Not Tragedies music video

Anyway, let me see if i can sum up my experience into a blog post.
I got my mom to buy me a rainbow colored P!ATD tshirt with a half wolf, half ballerina girl on it (Which is ironic if you know me)
I learned that Patrick Stump has a really awesome voice and looks alot better without the baby weight
After the Weight Loss

Before the Weight Loss

He was one of the opening acts at the concert, he was promoting his own album called Soul Punk

(You should buy this album too)

So after a very invigorating performance from the ever energetic Patrick Stump,
Panic! at the Disco made their debut on stage and I was unmercifully squished between bodies of sweaty people who screamed Brendon's name. But in the rush of the moment I didn't really care about that.
Brendon tried to get the crowd excited (if they weren't already from Patirck Stump's) by Singing/Screaming one of the new songs from his album and much to his relief, Everyone was not only dancing to the song but they were singing along with him. After he got warmed up, he complemented the crowd by saying "You guys sing f***ing loud!" which got him an even louder sound of cheering and applause from the audience. The rest of the show involved alot of provocative jokes (Ex: Brendon said "LETS GET SWEATY!! before he continued with the show, Among other things I don't think is allowed to be said on a school blog) and me getting pushed to the front of the crowd. When the show was over, I ran outside to wait for Brendon and Spencer but sadly, They weren't signing or taking pictures so I just went home with the bass from the speakers still sending waves through my bones.

Shirking Shirts

Why are concert t-shirts so ridiculously overpriced? I mean, sure they’re special and all that, but really?
$40, $50, $60 for a single t-shirt! It’s ridiculous. They aren’t even that awesome. You can get formal dresses/skirt suits for that price. Its so not cool. Concert tickets are expensive enough, but with the added cost of a shirt, they are  way overpriced. Sometimes, they cost so much that you can’t get a shirt at all. Why do they torture us so???

This is the Taylor Swift Speak Now concert shirt. Not too impressive, right? Guess the price: $35

So. Not. Cool.

This is the Gaga shirt, for $40. It's a little more impressive, sure, but for that much, I'd rather skip it. Pictures are enough, and they're free, too!

Why do musicians insist on selling overpriced shirts? Their loyal fans dutifully buy every single album, every EP, tickets to every concert. Do they have to buy freakishly expensive clothing, too?

Thanks for listening,
Miss Treble

It's Back to Haunt Me...

That's right, it's back.

Writer's Block has stolen my soul again.

I'm not sure why, but I haven't had any inspiration lately. Hopefully something will come up by next week.

Anyways, Writer's Block is starting to really annoy me. It just keeps coming back, then it goes away, then it comes back again. I really need a hobby... -.-"

So, besides me ranting on Writer's Block, I'm glad that our magazine is coming along... nicely. I'm pretty sure that some people who appreciate music wil appreciate this magazine, so please look forward to it!

... *thinks of what to write next* ... Okay, so I've been comtemplating if I should post original song lyrics I've done in past years, but I'm pretty sure some certain unmentioned people will post hate comments (not that I mean anyone in my class...) Anyways, I'd like to hear your feedback via comments so please let me know!

.... This Writer's Block seems like it's giving me ADHD, because I'm just saying what's on my mind without really thinking about it (not sure if I should be saying that >. >) So if you want me to post about something MUSIC RELATED, then please comment about it so I can consider the ideas you send me.

Yeah, I'm done ranting now. :D

Memorable Voices and Tunes

Michigan J Frog
This cute wittle Warner Bros. fwoggy's first appearance was in the cartoon "A Very Froggy Day" . He is most famous for singing "The Michigan Rag" (the song which his creator named him after) but he also sang a variety of other songs as well:
  • Hello! Ma Baby
  • I'm Just Wild About Harry
  • Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone
  • Largo aAl Factotam
MJF also sang short monologues informing parents that children watching should not let their child wacth the next showing on TV (he typically did this before shows liek Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel were about to start).

Jiminy H Cricket
His little tune "When You Wish Upon A Star"  was incredible, in fact, it's the song i sing when i need to calm down or I'm really stressed (don't judge, do you  have a happy song?!). And Jiminy also played his role in the minds of the youth. He appeared in a series of educational shows called "I'm No Fool", encouraging kids to stay in school;
I'm no fool, no sirree!
I'm gonna live to be [23,33,53,93,103]
I play safe for you and me
'Cause I'm no fool!
Other highlights of his career were the numerous musical sing alongs he hosted, including the biggest Disney songs of that time.

Snow White
Okay, so alot of Disney movies had musical numbers in them so i really tried to avoid Disney but I want to say something. HER VIOCE ANNOYS ME SO MUCH! It's sweet and all, but when I heard her sing in the movie I got that feeling you get after chugging down a spoonful of table sugar (for those of you who can relate). I'm not even going to color the text.
I think that so far Ariel has the prettiest voice, tell me if you think differently.

Uncle Remus
Source
He is the one who sang Zippidy Doo Dah! Along with a collection of folk songs through animal stories. The main focus of Uncle remus was to present the music of the African American citizens. i believe there are four books full of his songs.

Hmmm... can't think of anyone else...
So I'll ask you guys! (sorry I'm not from Texas, i don't say y'all). Can you think of any characters that snag or had memorable songs (can't be in Disney movie songs though)?

Concert Blues

Yesterday, Panic! At the Disco played at La Zona Rosa. You know where I was? Sitting in my room, doing homework! My friend, the blogger Everlast, got to go (I think her post this week is about it…) and I was hoping to go with her. But then, lightning struck: my mom decided that school was more important than going to a concert that I’ve been looking forward to forever!
What the heck? Come on, parents. Is going to a concert so bad, especially when I really like the band?
I was so upset, and that’s not where it stops. This month, Taylor Swift is playing at the Frank Erwin Center. I asked for tickets AGES ago, and my dad goes, “I’ll look into it.” A couple months later, I asked about it, and he looked at me like a deer in the headlights.
Oops.
So, it got me wondering, do my parents have something against concerts!?!?  I mean, it’s not like I’m going to jump into a mosh pit at the first chance I get. Actually, there probably wouldn’t be a mosh pit at any of the concerts I go to.
Anyways…. I wrote this because of my lack of a life. I’m such a lame person, for real.
Bye!

Can you do PINK?

On my previous blog post, "pink" was listed under Selena's video("The Race Of The Weird"). And I'm sure you've noticed that a lot of pop music videos are overusing the color pink. And the stars that have been using it to the max is probably Nicki Minaj. It gives her the"I'm cool and CUTE!" . Source

Believe it or not, I actually had pajamas that looked like that when I was little, they were footy pj's! And also more age appropriate for my five year old self.

On a another note: "Radif"?
Short and sweet , it's a melody that has been passed down from generation to generation, commonly used in indian music. it was my only code name idea, but now I hate it. It sounds akward. How about "Dum Dee Dum". Yes,yes I like that.
teLl Me your FAvOrite   pop songs, do they use the color pink?

The Odds Are In Your Favor

Hello, you listeners of American music.
I've decided to take a short break from my Asian music obsession and placing the odds in your favor (partially). This week's post is going to be about an album that will release November 8th.

Okay, I lied about being out of my Asian music phase. This blog post is about former KAT-TUN member Jin Akanishi. Last year he left KAT-TUN to continue his solo career in the US, and now he's finally making his "debut" with the album "Test Drive", featuring Jason Derulo. Akanishi has a YouTube channel that you can subscribe to here. He also has a US official website, where you can get all the latest news and updates.

Personally, I'm not sure if I should look forward to this or not. I mean, I really liked him when he was part of KAT- TUN, but now I think that this might not work. This might be because I'm not a big Jason Derulo fan(don't kill me), but it also could be because I'm so used to hearing him sing in Japanese (but I know that Akanishi is REALLY fluent in English because he used to switch between staying in Japan and the US). Based on his YouTube channel it looks like he might have his own show as well, titled "Jin Akanishi: The Takeover." i think he might be going a little above and beyond here, but maybe it's for publicity in the US. I'm leaning towards the "I'm starting to dislike him a little" side, but that's okay, because I have his KAT-TUN music on my iPod.

Before I forget, Akanishi also has an official Twitter

Anyways, I still wish him luck in his solo career here, and hope everything turns out okay. Ganbatte, Akanishi-san!

This is the US version of the album cover. Find it here.

New Release from Alice Nine

I'm once again resurrected from the dead.

I haven't had any topics to blog about, but then I remembered one: Alice Nine's recent single release, "HEART OF GOLD."

So that's why I'm updating today.

"HEART OF GOLD" released September 7th this year (which is the first day of school for the East Coast) and I've been really looking forward to downloading it to my iPod. The single has three types of CDs:
Type A

Type B

 and

Regular Edition

                        All  images found here.

Each CD contains different cover and tracks. The regular edition contains three tracks: HEART OF GOLD, Ray, and Haikara Naru Rinbu Kyoku (White Collar Naru Rondo) while the Type A and B CDs have only two tracks: HEART OF GOLD and Ray.

Screencap found here. Watch the full music video here.

Unfortunately the music video doesn't have English subtitles, but you can find the translation on a fanmade LiveJournal.

I've listened to "HEART OF GOLD", and I think it's one of their best songs yet. It's really expresses Shou (the singer)'s personal feelings and the lyrics are something I can relate to very well. The song itself is amazing, and it makes me like Alice Nine even more than I used to (which is more that a lot).

That's my update for now. See you next week!
