Writer's Block At Its Best

Hey everyone, KeiLove here.

Have you ever gotten that feeling where you want to write about something and you don't know what? Or have trouble thinking about something to write about? That's a pestering thing called Writer's Block and it's happening to me right now. For some reason I can't think of anything to blog about right now (maybe it's the fact that I have no life...). I've been considering different ideas, but none of them seem to work. Some ideas I've considered are:
- Writing about recent events that have impacted me
- Writing installement stories (a story that has a new chapter/part every post)
- Character profiles of ones that I've made up with a friend
- Polls/Quizzes
- Fan fiction
- Random posts here and there

I guess that inspiration will come its way when it does, but until then I think I'll try keeping myself busy. Anyways, I could start by saying that I just moved from New York to Texas (the most random place someone could move to--no offense, Texans). So far it's taking some time to get used to, with the new school system and time change, but I think I'm doing pretty well in trying to get where I need to be at the right time. Being at a magnet school isn't as easy as I though it would be, but it has its advantages and upsides. I really like LASA, despite how different it is; I have a lot of nice friends here that I can relate to, as well as people who care about what I say (okay, maybe not). Even then I just want to stick true to myself and be me regardless of what this school throws at me.

Now that I think about it, writing about Writer's Block is really productive. I think that in itself is an inspiration to just get all your thoughts out until that one idea pops into your head and you think, 'I'm going with it.' I guess you never really know when such a bothersome state of mind can create a blog entry.

I Heart Taylor Swift?

Remember when you were about twelve years old, singing (by heart!) to You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift? And then  White Horse, and then Love Story.
Well I for one grew tired of the constant fairy tale motif. Yes her lyrics may hold some deep personal meaning and a vast majority of girls nationwide can relate to the scenarios in her songs. BUT PLEASE PLEASE MOVE ON!  Variety is good. Her albums and music videos always have her in the dress that show a little here but completely blanket there and with the poofy hair mingling with the bath of flowers and nature and blah blah blah. The album covers only vary in color scheme and clothes. It gets old after a while, really, really old.

She's slimming down her audience; people have favorite Taylor Swift song(s) rather than Taylor Swift being a favorite artist. I have, nay, had a favorite song until they replayed it over and over. The next one came out, and I loved it, until they played it over and over. Then after the third "fairy tale" song in row came out, I was sick of it, and I think others are too.
Now picture this...

Pondering Pandora

Pandora.
Some people don’t know what this amazing site is, but that number is growing smaller by the day. Pandora is quickly becoming an outlet for music lovers everywhere. It’s free, and it’s easy to use. Simply search your favorite bands, and find their music, along with many similar artists. Whether you crank it up in the morning while dressing for school, or keep it quiet while doing your homework, Pandora’s a great place to find all your favorite music.

I really like the idea of Pandora, but I haven't had time to get an account, what with my bustling social life (*cough cough* HOMEWORK *cough cough*) Instead, I decided to talk to a fellow blogger, Everlast, about it. She's been a Pandora user for two years, and she isn't planning on stopping now.

Me: What’s your favorite part about Pandora?
Everlast: It has a lot of radio stations.
Me: Why do you use it as opposed to radio channel websites?
Everlast: Because it’s quick, and it’s popular.
Me: Can you find all of the music you want to listen to on Pandora?
Everlast: I can find most of it.
Me: What can’t you find?
Everlast: Well, it’s really ‘what can’t I find?’. There’s too many songs that they put on the radio that I don’t know.
Me: So the worst part of Pandora is that it has too much music?
Everlast: Sometimes. Because some of the music is stuff I’d never listen to.
Me: So, how’s the variety?
Everlast: It's good, but not when I want to listen to familiar stuff. I listen to kind of unkown artists.

So, what do you think? Yes or no to Pandora?

Until next time,
Miss Treble
